Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The ambiance doesn’t go unnoticed; many find the cozy setting and pleasing décor perfect for relaxation or focus. The service ranks high as staff provide quick, friendly service, even on busy weekends filled with hikers. A standout favorite is the famous Renfrew Fog coffee, praised for its deliciously smooth flavor. Regulars rave about the baked goods, especially the cherry yogurt danish and the peanut butter chocolate bar, which has become an irresistible treat for many. People love the spacious outdoor seating and appreciate the dog-friendly atmosphere, creating a laid-back and inclusive environment for all.

Most Disliked

Some visitors express frustration during peak busy hours, noting longer wait times, especially when the café fills with thirsty hikers. Occasionally, items may sell out quickly due to high demand, particularly popular sandwiches and pastries. Moreover, while there are many indoor seating options, some may find that on particularly rainy days, seating can feel cramped. Parking can be limited at times, prompting issues for those who arrive later in the day. Though the café is bustling, a few wish for a bit more variety in the menu offerings, particularly in light snacks for those simply looking to grab a quick bite.

A welcome stop after exploring the tide pools at Botanical Beach. Best chicken pesto sandwich I've had and delicious specialty coffees. Very busy with hikers doing the West Coast and Juan de Fuca trails but the staff keep everything moving smoothly. Hammocks on the outside patio and a nice little garden around the side.

Great Coffee and Pastries. The Renfrew Fog was so foamy and not overly sweetened, and the cappuccino was super smooth. As for pastries -- Greek Yogurt and Cherry SLAPS and the peanut butter chocolate bar was delicious. Super cozy space and nice merch from local artists. Would love to come back again :)

What a cozy little coastal cafe! Stopped in for a coffee and a danish after walking Sombrio for a while this morning. The pumpkin spice latte was great and warmed me up and the cherry and yogurt danish was excellent. Great coastal vibes.

Cozy home made food in this laid back, traveller friendly cafe. I had their chili and cornbread and it was delicious. Also offers a small selection of local merch including stickers and t-shirts. Beautiful sitting area in a garden behind the kitchen. Fun decor. Note they only open during the day.

Actually really good coffee. Surprisingly one of the best I’ve had on the island. The male barista could be a little more welcoming but the woman at the cash was kind!
